ETN’s Purpose and Vision

Lynne Christopher

Lynne M Christopher MBS,  BSc (Hons),  Cert.Ed

Director

Having a proven track record, substantial experience and recognised achievement in the provision of professional development and training opportunities, Lynne Christopher is now managing a new education and training organisation for mental healthcare professionals – The Mental Health Education and Training Network (ETN)

From 2005 to 2012, as Head of Training for the Royal College of Psychiatrists (RCPsych), Lynne set up and developed the College Education and Training Centre (CETC).  During this time Lynne developed new initiatives quickly and effectively. She enabled the CETC to attract increasing numbers of commissions for education and training products and activities from the Department of Health, Deaneries and NHS Trusts and personally designed the proposals and ensured their success.

From 1999 – 2005 Lynne developed The Andrew Sims Centre for Leeds Partnership NHS Trust (1999 – 2005) – a regionally based centre of professional development for psychiatrists. She worked closely with her medical colleagues and tailored the centre’s provision to the needs of psychiatrists and other mental health professionals at all levels.

She prides herself on providing friendly customer-focused services and delivering training to the highest possible standards. Over the years, Lynne has worked closely with medical directors and provided training advice and support to the RCPsych’s Medical Directors Executive. This enhanced her understanding of the role of medical managers and the training needs in areas such as Appraisal, Revalidation, Commissioning, Payment by Results and Outcomes.  She also carried out considerable collaborative work with GPs and Occupational Physicians to help improve the services for sick doctors and other health professionals.

As a consultant, Lynne will work with senior staff and medical directors to develop their training strategy, plans and provision and assist them by working with members of their medical team who may require additional resources to help them prepare for and meet the new appraisal / revalidation requirements.
